About Us

Laps for Learning was started in 2006 as a vehicle to invite others to become a part of the solution to end the cycle of poverty.  Laps for Learning shines a light on the dire circumstances that too many children endure each day in their struggle to merely survive.

Instead of simply requesting financial assistance from others, Laps for Learning founder, Nancy Waterfall, isn't afraid to get her feet wet.  No, she literally jumps in the deep end and swims lap after lap to show her committed interest in providing opportunities and solutions to the world's poorest.

Laps for Learning donors sponsor Nancy's swim through monetary donations.  All donations are recorded, then forwarded on to the designated 501(c)(3) charitable organization selected for that year.  Rest assured, every organization to receive funds raised through Laps for Learning is exhaustively researched and highly recommended. Nancy hand-picks an organization that provides educational opportunity and/or vocational training to children and young adults of poverty, disability or neglect.

Laps for Learning is a one woman show. There are no administrative or staffing costs. All donations are gratefully received and strictly utilized to support the Laps for Learning mission of educating and training those who will not have the ability to do so without our help. Many thanks.
