Recipient update: Nepal

Ganseh's school was built to serve a small village in the mountains of Nepal.  It is a great blessing to the village, and was made possible in part through the generosity of Laps for Learning donors.  Thank you!

TOUCH Scholarship Program
The Scholarship Program for youth in The TOUCH Project (Take One Ukrainian Child’s Hand) was initiated in 2010. The funds raised through this endeavor help cover the expenses of educational opportunities  at a vocational training facility, a university, or through an exchange program. Four or five students have benefitted each year through these scholarships which average from $400-$800 per year.

In a world with such a wealth of knowledge, there is need for compassion and charity.  Your contribution to Laps for Learning brings hope to those who wish to learn but lack the opportunity to do so.

Jump in the swim with me by making your contribution today and give a child the hope for a better tomorrow!

Smiling Children's Library, Nepal 2007

One of my favorite projects was providing much needed library books for the Smiling Children's Library in Kathmandu, Nepal.  With happy faces the children were elated to receive these books and thanks to Laps for Learning, this gift continues to bring smiles to the faces of the children who live on site at a carpet manufacturing plant.

Our group at the Smiling Children's Library in Kathmandu, Nepal. Working with Nepal Hope we were able to supply books to stock the shelves in the little library on the grounds of a carpet making company.  Employees and their families live at the enclosed compound.

Peru 2003

As a family we have been blessed with the privilege of travel and enjoying the wonder of language, people, culture and history.  These experiences have given us an awareness of significant needs that exist in developing countries for the basics of life, including the gift of education.  After much thought about how we might contribute good to the world, we embarked upon our first humanitarian expedition.

In December 2003, my family and I  traveled to Peru, carrying with us school supplies, soccer balls and the hope that we would learn and grow together while serving the children living at Casa de Milagros orphanage in Lamay.  It was a remarkable experience, providing us with a new understanding of what matters most.   It was the initial spark that would eventually become Laps for Learning
